The Juicing Recipes "Great PMS Escape"

No, that picture is not a tribute to the movie Halloween, even though it is October and that would be seasonally quite clever. If you are a man reading this however, look very carefully at the preceding picture for 10 seconds and then read on for the topic of this article. You will almost certainly understand what is about to happen in my own home - no later than this weekend.

It happens every month, with the lunar cycle, just like werewolves howling only 100 times more scary. On a good month it is about as frightful as an earthquake, on a bad month it's a genuinely alive, female version of ^^that guy^^ rushing at you with a gigantic Blade of Doom, for 3 to 5 days. It's the same time of the month when us men all quietly mark the quickest exits, hiding the really sharp objects, and mentally preparing for a few days of "chick flicks" and Dill Pickle Dip.

What will follow are juicing recipes that I lovingly call "The Great PMS Escape". I didn't develop these recipes per say (after all I am a man) but I guarantee you that my research and experimentation has historically shown some very positive results. In my initial days of experimenting I almost felt like Dr. Frankenstein, only I was looking to kill a beast, not bring it to life. I succeeded with the following recipes. (Eureka!!!)

It's also a very good idea for any men reading this to note the following:
  • these juices work extra well on PMS symptoms when YOU are the one preparing the juice for her. It's just not a good idea to leave a woman with PMS in front of any machine that has many spinning blades and a powerful motor.
The truth is that there are plenty of vitamin and mineral combinations that will significantly help PMS, it just takes a commitment to adequately prepare for that time of the month, a juicer, and some quality fruits and vegetables. Ladies, by increasing your intake of magnesium, B6 and B complex as well as beta-carotene in the week before your period, you can significantly decrease certain symptoms. This is easily done by making the most of the green juices. As well, water retention can be helped with watermelon, grape, cucumber and dandelion. Here are a few recipes that can help alleviate PMS.

Black Watermelon
- ¼ small watermelon
- 1 tsp, 1 tbsp blackstrap molasses (unsulfured)

Cool as a Cuke
- 1 cucumber
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tomato
- dash of dill

Spring Salad
- 3 florets of broccoli
- 4 carrots
- 2 stalks of celery
- 1 clove or garlic
- 1 tomato

Sprout Special
- 4 carrots
- 1 whole apple
- 1 cup sprouted seeds

Waterfall
- 5cm section of cucumber
- 1 whole apple
- 3 carrots
- ½ smallish beetroot
